Grade 6 Farewell

Congratulations to our Grade 6 students who will be heading off to Roncalli in the fall! We would like to congratulate you on completing primary/elementary school. To help you celebrate we have prepared a slideshow to help you remember all of the awesome things you have done over the years! We are so proud of all of your accomplishments. We are very proud of you! Good Luck at Roncalli!

Remembrance Day Poster Contest

ICS would like to Congratulate all students who participated in the 2019 Royal Canadian Legion Poster Contest. The act of remembrance is so important and our school takes great pride in encouraging all students to participate in this very worthwhile endeavor! The following message is from the Royal Canadian Legion:

The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 64, Conception Bay Center, would like to thank all the students of Immaculate Conception School, Colliers, for their participation in the Remembrance Day Poster Contest. Your drawings and sketches were amazing. A big thank, you is also extended to their teachers for encouraging the children to share their beautiful artwork. We had every student in your school participate and we appreciate their work to show their remembrance and respect for soldiers who fought for the freedom that we have today.

The contest is broken down and judged by grade level - First, Second and Third. Then, these winners were selected for each division - Primary and Junior in our branch for Conception Bay Center. These selections were then entered at the provincial level for judging and we were ecstatic to be notified that a student from Immaculate Conception School had placed third at the provincial level for the Black and White Poster. This entry was then entered into the contest for students from across Canada.

Today, it is an honour to present a grade six student from your school, McKinlee Moriarity, with the third place certificate and prize from The Royal Canadian Legion-Newfoundland Labrador Command for her entry of a black and white drawing. I am going to ask the Poppy Campaign Coordinator, Edward Mahoney, to present McKinlee with her certificate and cheque. McKinlee, congratulations! We are very proud of you.

Congrats McKinlee!

Learning at Home with NLESD

With so much uncertainty we appreciate that this situation may be difficult for families. The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District (NLESD) understands that you are concerned about your child’s education. We would like to reassure you that we are here to support you. At this point in time, we encourage you to focus on health and well-being.

Children and young adults are naturally curious learners and there are opportunities at home to engage their learning. We will continue to share a variety of educational ideas to support well-being, literacy, numeracy and our students' individual passions for learning, while they are away from school.

We encourage our families to begin by following the link to WELL-BEING to find a variety of websites, with both online and offline activities, that you may find helpful at this time. This website will continue to develop . Please click the image below to access this website.
