Recycling Blitz - November 2, 2019
ICS will be hosting a Recycling Blitz on Saturday, November 2, 2019. Information regarding this was sent home with students.
1. Recycling takes place every two weeks (recycling dates for the year have been marked on the calendar on the homepage). Recycling can be placed in the blue bins located behind the school at any time during the week. It can be dropped off at the school the morning of a recycling day, or dropped off at the Depot in Colliers. If you choose to drop it off at the Depot, you must contact the school with the total and let the Depot know that it is for the school.
2. Each student who brings in a minimum of 100 recyclables (or 150 per family for those with more than one student in the school), will receive a Dixie Cup for recess on the Recycling Day. If you do not have the required number of recyclables students may bring in a $5 donation and receive a Dixie Cup. All funds raised through this initiative go back to the students to pay for things like field trips.
3. Volunteers are always welcome. On Recycling days we need people to help sort, clean and count. This usually only takes about an hour, so please consider helping with this amazing program. If you are unable to help at the school, you can help us out by counting your recycling before sending it in.
How to Prepare Your Recycling
Sort It is very important that you separate your glass containers from all other containers. This is for the safety of our volunteers that handle our recycling.
Clean Please remember to remove all bottle caps and straws from juice boxes. Rinse when possible.
Count and Label Counting recycling is the most helpful thing that you can do. Record the amount along with your child’s name and grade and ensure that it is visible
